Back in Five

This week the Montreal Tobacco trial has moved along a stage in this five-party proceeding. Canada's second largest tobacco company, Rothmans, Benson and Hedges has begun to present its "fact" witnesses.

To be more precise, to present it's singular "fact" witness, Mr. Steve Chapman.

RBH counsel, Simon Potter, announced last month that four witnesses once anticipated would no long be required and that only Mr. Steve Chapman would be brought to court. As he hard done during 'the plaintiffs' proof' last year,  Mr. Potter arranged an agreement with the plaintiffs to have sides documents put into evidence without witnesses testimony being required.

Mr. Chapman will be testifying through Wednesday.

These eyes have been diverted from the trial, but fortunately there are others watching developments for us.  Next week, during the regularly scheduled break week, I will pump them for details and let you know what I learned about Mr. Chapman's testimony.

Stay tuned.
